Learning modules

The e-learning site of the Ensure Project is organized as a course without external assistance and has been conceived for the enhancement of the dissemination of the project’s results.

THE LEARNING CONTENTS AIM  AT:

  • proposing an approach for the understanding of the articulated nature of the concept of vulnerability (i.e. physical, economic, cultural, social and systemic), at different spatial scales (regional and local);
  • proposing methodologies and tools to analyze the relationship between the concept of     vulnerability and other concepts such as “risk”, “damage”, “exposure”, “resilience” and “adaptation”;
  • proposing examples and methodologies to explore the integration and connections of  different types of vulnerability, at the same time identifying the key issues involved;
  • proposing you approaches and methods to investigate the temporal and spatial variability of the relations between different types of vulnerability and different types of damage, and to use these as a basic assumption for future scenarios;
  • proposing new, and improve existing, vulnerability assessment models and   parameters, while specifying procedures to make them operable within a given territorial or cultural context;
  • proposing you case studies at local scales and within regional contexts in which a   method that integrates the assessment of different types of vulnerabilities is developed and tested.

The menu is composed of four main modules: two learning modules, one module devoted to the analysis of case studies and one module containing activities and exercises referring to the whole proposed learning contents.

IN EACH MODULE YOU WILL FIND:

  • a brief introduction text;
  • files containing the learning contents.
