If a disaster occurs, one of the first problems local authorities have to face is the organisation of accessibility and mobility. Why this?
Think to the need for reaching the area interested by the disaster, to bring rescue to the local community and to work on the main dangerous situations.
Think to the need for making people leave the areas interested by the disaster.
Think to the need to make other people find another way because the normal ways have been interrupted.
Try to imagine how to identify the routes cut by a disaster (a landslide or flood, for instance) in a certain territorial area and how to assess structural accessibility and mobility vulnerability.
